[In life] Life is interesting at the moment... a little stressed as it's 'the pointy end' of semester - time to really get stuck in, knuckle down and any more cliches you could care to think of. I'm having a trying time balancing work and school, I'm not one of those people who can handles both too well, I like it one or another, so I can give each my all... even though my job doesn't require much in the way of brain power, it just takes up a lot of time - a full day at a time, and afterwards I'm too exhausted to do anything, least of all homework! MEH, I tend to make mountains out of molehills (which I really have to stop), so I'm sure I'll cope...

[In art] Really enjoying some of the imagery I'm creating at school at the moment (even if no one else does):

however I've noticed that the stuff that goes down really well at art school and in Artist run galleries (post-modern, conceptual, avant guarde, political etc.) doesn't really rate here on DA. People seem to be into more aesthetically powerful imagery, the real visceral, one dimensional stuff... not to say that it's not conceptual (at all), but it's often not particuarly challenging (unless it's challenging in an acceptable or popular way, such as gore).
Heck! Contemporary art isn't very popular with the broader public outside of Deviant Art, now I think of it, so I don't suppose it should be any different here... I guess it's a moot point, really. Kinda makes me wonder what I'm doing on here actually!
Anyway, I'm having fun, enjoying the process, challenging myself and _trying_ to challenge those around me.

Shooting tomorrow in that massive shoot that everyone's so excited about. Wish I was a little more excited about the prospect... but I don't have a concept in mind, so I might come up with nothing I'm particuarly pleased with *shrugs* we'll see. Kudos to Kim for getting it all organised! If nothing else it will be one hell of an oppotunity to build up my camera skillzzz... i my new camer
